The team of O’Neal Manufacturing Services, located just down the road from Kirkwood in Vestavia Hills, created Valentine’s Day cards during their February team meeting for our Memory Care residents.
Marketing Manager for O’Neal Manufacturing Services Kris White shared: “Both of my parents have been residents in senior living and skilled nursing communities, which has given me a better understanding of the services you provide and what it means to be a part of these communities. The friendships, services, and activities my parents experienced were so impactful. As they aged and became more physically dependent on others, they became more appreciative of not just the bigger gestures of support, but of the small moments of thoughtfulness they received from the staff, family members, and visitors.”
O’Neal Manufacturing Services is a fabricator of large metal components for Original Equipment Manufacturers. With headquarters in Vestavia Hills, they have fabrication plants across North America. Their parent company, O’Neal Industries, has a long history of community involvement. Employees are encouraged to look for opportunities to give their time, talent, and resources to others. When Kris suggested that the team write Valentine’s for our Kirkwood residents, the staff jumped on the project. “It was a fun and creative outlet,” Kris said. “We hoped that the residents who received our Valentine’s cards knew that they were special.”
We are so appreciative of this kind gesture and how much joy it brought to our community!
