Lisa Wright is our wonderful Accounting Director and today is the anniversary that marks 23 years of her working at Kirkwood by the River! We are so thankful for Lisa and the work she has done to help shape and be apart of the Kirkwood Family throughout the last two decades. Here are some of her favorite things and memories about Kirkwood!
What is your favorite memory from your years at Kirkwood?
One of my favorite memories of Kirkwood was when a bunch of us would go Christmas caroling through the hall ways. The residents would open their doors and some would sing along with us!
The dietary director at the time even made us “figgy pudding” to enjoy once we were finished. It was so good!!
What is your favorite yearly tradition or event at Kirkwood?
I do love the Halloween event. My family comes and they love the elders as much as I do! Some pass out candy PLUS hugs! But Christmas is my fave!! The tree and all the decorations are great. A lot of the residents decorate their doors and I enjoy seeing the different things they do as well.
What is your favorite thing about working at Kirkwood?
My favorite thing about working here is the relationships I have made. My memory is peppered with good times from cookie swaps to pumpkin carving contests. Our auditor has been on me for years to start a book about the life and times of Kirkwood! I wish now I would have listened to him. I have forgotten more than I remember!
