This month, our resident spotlight is on our wonderful community member, Fred Rogers! We so enjoyed getting to know him a little bit better and hope you do too!
Where are you from? I am from Jonesboro, Arkansas and moved to Birmingham in 2010 with my wife to be close to our family.
Tell us about your family. Carol and I have been married for 65 years! We have 2 children, one son and one daughter, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Our son who lives in Birmingham is a home health physical therapist.
Tell us about your education and career. I graduated from Arkansas State University with a BS in Chemistry and Biology. I then served in the Infantry and retired as a 1st Lt. I then went on to receive my Masters in Chemistry from Ole Miss. I cheer for Ole Miss and the University of Alabama in football!
How long have you lived at Kirkwood? I have been at Kirkwood for 11 years and my favorite thing is the family atmosphere and the Christian values we were built on that are evident here in all our leadership does.
If you could sit down and have a meal with anyone in the world, present, past, or future, who would you choose? I would choose the Apostle Paul because he stayed the course and delivered the message God gave him.
Mr. Rogers, thank you so much for sharing with us! We are so thankful to have you and your sweet wife as apart of our Kirkwood family!
