This month our staff spotlight is our new Life Enrichment Coordinator, Abby Thomason! Everyone give her a warm welcome when you see her around campus! Abby, we are so excited to have you on the team!
Tell us a little bit about yourself! My name is Abby Thomason. I’m from Birmingham and have lived in the 280 area (Oak Mountain) for most of my life. Despite growing up in the south, i am not a football fan, but instead I have always loved baseball (specifically the Los Angeles Dodgers)! I got my bachelor’s in Spanish Literature from Samford University, but my mother wishes I had majored in Music being that I’m a musician. Ever since, I’ve been working in senior communities.
What is your role at Kirkwood? God blessed me by bringing me to Kirkwood in December 2021 to be your Life Enrichment Coordinator.
What is your favorite thing about Kirkwood? I love it so much because I enjoy getting to know all of our residents!
What do you like to do for fun? I enjoy cuddling with my little dog, Banjo, playing board games with my church friends and my boyfriend, and geeking out over all things Disney.
If you could have dinner with anyone in the world – living or dead, who would it be? If I could have dinner with anyone living or dead, I would love to have a dinner party with Jesus, Walt Disney, Dolly Parton, and my grandma.
